Peter Blais
Petite Riviere, Nova Scotia Canada
Born in 1949, Peter Blais is a Canadian Artist, who started his career in Toronto with a number of solo and group shows in the 70's. At that time he was working as a fibre artist and subsequently moved into the medium of fibreglass and resins,. Later, he began painting with acrylic on canvas, and most recently has begun to explore the folk art tradition of Nova Scotia. Peter is also an accomplished stage designer. His theatre designs now form part of the permanent Canadian Theatre Collection at the University of Guelph Archives, Guelph, Ontario. He has also been a guest instructor at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax.
