À propos du livre
I've been a TV subtitler for about 8 years. Subtitling for TV is one of those jobs that people mainly think is done by machines.
It's A Human is a project I undertook at work to produce portraits of my subtitling colleagues.
To accompany their portrait, I asked them to supply a single caption from the programme they were subtitling at the time the portrait was taken.
The inspiration for the project was a BBC newscaster who, off-air but overheard, expressed huge surprise that the subtitles being produced on the programme she was just presenting were not produced by machines. As she said herself: "It's a HUMAN?!"
