À propos du Ebook
Pelham Puppets Ltd produced in excess of nine million puppets between 1947 and 1993. The first book in this series, 'Pelham Puppets a photographic guide volume 1', brought together hundreds of characters made by the company and now collected by enthusiasts all over the world. Volume 2 seeks to add hundreds more characters to the collection.
It's been reported that Pelham Puppets Ltd produced in excess of 1000 characters during production. The several hundred puppets that appear in Volume 1 of this series are fairly well documented in sales leaflets of the era but there were hundreds more that go seemingly unrecorded in the company's records. Here I have added some of the characters from known records but not included in the first book in this series but more importantly I have added hundreds more that many collectors may have never seen, or been aware of, as they have not been documented before now.
The book runs to some 400 pages with 1000 full colour plates and hundreds of Pelham Puppets from the 1940s to the 1990's.
Such is the rarity of some Pelham Puppets, that the chances of discovering them in sales is very remote, since those that have been found are now treasured in private collections and until now, unseen by the public. Along with hard to find characters, this volume seeks to unlock some hidden treasures made by the company and reveal to collectors a remarkable variety of illusive, apocryphal and unique Pelham Puppets. This book is a testimony to the ingenuity of design and craftsmanship, unique to the workforce that was Pelham Puppets Ltd.

À propos du créateur
Formerly a student at London's Goldsmiths' College and The Royal College of Art, I am now a Television Producer and BAFTA nominated TV Director with more than twenty years experience in TV Production. I had many Pelham Puppets as a child and re-discovered them four years ago tucked away in my loft. It then struck me, particularly with the early examples, that in terms of design and craftmanship they had great appeal. I began photographing them at once and found them very photogenic - and so the start of a 'photographic library' began, that now stands in excess of 20000 jpgs. With more than four years of research, these books are a distillation of that library, intended for collectors and enthusiasts that share my belief that these were and are, very special toys.
