---------------------------------
The Parco degli acquedotti is a large public green area, included in the Regional Park of the Ancient Appian Way and located at the southern outskirts of Rome. This area preserves the remains of 6 Roman aqueducts, built between 272 BC and 52 AD, which carried the impressive water flow which fed Rome during the imperial period (estimated at 13 cubic meter per second), and were constantly in operation till the destruction operated by the Goths in 537 AD. A seventh aqueduct was added by Pope Sixtus V at the end of the XVI century.
The Park is nowadays a recreational area, quite popular for walking, jogging and open-air activities. In this book, I propose some photos taken during my visits from 2006 to 2012.
