À propos du livre
Dennis had no interest in sundials until a few years ago when he visited Drummond Castle Gardens near Crieff. Whilst there he saw the wonderful 400 year old obelisk sundial by John Mylne which has 76 separate dials. He didn't know that sundials like that existed and he was hooked.
Since then, using a book by Thomas Ross from 1890, he has set about to discover the whereabouts and to photograph Scotland's ancient sundials.
It has not been easy. Many of the sundial locations were not sufficiently identifed, many have been moved to new locations and many more are missing.
He still has a long way to go.
This book contains nearly 200 colour photos of the sundials that he has located so far and many of these sundials are of styles that are unique to Scotland.
