À propos du livre
Domestic Glamour is a celebration of women through the exploration of everyday beauty rituals. All the subjects in Domestic Glamour have a personal connection with Monica and all are captured in natural and vulnerable states as she photographs them in their own environments getting ready to go out. Bathrooms often become stages where mundane existences get rehearsed, playing witness to secrets. The work reflects this intimacy through the relationship between artist and subject, embracing the photographed women’s natural beauty and raising questions about ageism.
None of these pictures have been posed or airbrushed. These are women just as they are, over 45 in all their splendor.
