À propos du livre
Atorkor is a small village in the Anlo district of the Volta Region (South Eastern) part of Ghana. It is located on the Atlantic coast with beautiful sandy beach. The main occupation of the village is fishing for which the inhabitants depend on the sea and the lagoon. Fishing in Atorkor has declined considerably due to depleting stocks in the immediate vicinity of the shore line and the use of archaic traditional fishing methods which limits the fishermen to fishing only in the immediate vicinity of the shore line. This prompted the start of the Atorkor Develpment Foundation in 2001. Its vision is to transform Atorkor from a very poor and under-developed village into a self-sustaining village with basic amenities. More information about Atorkor and volunteering can be found at www.adfatorkor.org

Have just started to try and make a living from photography after spending the last 3 years traveling. I have volunteered in five African countries, visited New Zealand and Hong Kong so far and have loved the experience. My stay in South Africa was the turning point as far as the photography is concerned. I spent four glorious weeks on a photography & conservation project . I hope to get a book published through here of the fantastic places I have been too and the wonderful people I have met. Have a feeling it will be more than one books worth!
