In 2009, I began to publish a daily weather picture on facebook. From its first purpose to simply document the weather, this adventure quickly evolved into an artistic and scientific journey to capture the unexpected in us and our environment. Photography is a means of discovery. The eye misses many things, perhaps due to lack or overabundance of size, speed, brightness, or changes in time. Often, it is the pre-occupation with daily toil that has us miss the beauty around us. The camera will teach us, and I can not stop enjoying this! The words with the pictures have grown to include poetry, scientific musings, or any daily ado that comes with kids, animals, world awareness, gardens, seasons in the prairie. I am a German physicist, and win my daily bread as a faculty at the University of Minnesota-Morris.
