I was an elementary school teacher for several years before deciding to tutor full-time. I have always loved children's books and have been able to read my fair share on the job. I also love to work with paper and other artistic mediums. With that foundation, I always knew I would write a children's book at some point; that day finally came with the publication of A Day Without Toast.

I live in Michigan with my husband Chris and Miniature Schnauzer, Pancake. You can usually find the three of us enjoying our backyard or the wonderful nature trails in our area. I also like to travel, garden, read, and support the local businesses, restaurants and attractions.

I adore animals of all types and use them for my main inspiration in my art and writing. Therefore, I plan on donating a percent of my profits to a national wildlife organization.
