Melody had the perfect life. She’d started her first year of teaching, which had always been her dream. The man she loved, Johnathan had proposed. To make things better, she’d just been chosen to receive an award that would send her career off the charts. Teacher of the year for the entire region! Even the students loved her and showered her with gifts of gratitude. How could life get any more perfect?



Joey, on the other hand, had a far less than perfect life. Horribly scarred from a childhood accident he’d spent his teenage years bouncing around between abusive families and orphanages. Every time he took a step toward progress, life sent him hurtling back three.
