À propos du livre
All of these photographs were shot in Chicago’s near north side in and around my studio. I was beginning graduate school at the Art Institute of Chicago and my original intention, when I purchased a Nikon F, was only to use the camera to document my paintings. However almost every day, in the late afternoon, my camera and I would take a walk through the neighborhood.
After 3 years and over 6000 slides later as I was getting ready to leave Chicago … going west to points unknown ... and in an effort to “get light, ” I edited the slides down to about 600 images. I regret that now!
They were originally shot in Ektachromes and Kodachromes, which I have scanned and printed.
