'City of Angels' is my collection of photographs from Bangkok, Thailand.

 

The photographs are of people who I met or saw on my journeys between 2005 and 2009. My camera accompanied me all the time: on shopping trips; games of football; nights out with friends - everywhere! If my camera was not with me, I worried I would miss a great shot.  

 

As well as taking spontaneous photographs, I often visited different parts of Bangkok walking around for long periods waiting to capture peoples' expressions, memorable moments and the essence of a remarkable city. 

 

I became familiar with the city and met many memorable characters, hard working people and wonderful places. Alongside the fantastic, I came across saddening sights of extreme poverty, drug abuse, corruption and the city's sex industry.

 

Bangkok, often referred to as the City of Angels, is a vibrant and busy capital city with a population of strong, diverse and deeply cultural people who have become the focus of this book.
