À propos du livre
I have a huge resource of old photographs which are quietly deteriorating, so in 2016 I began writing this book, the idea being that I would use more of my photographic library, which comprises 3,321 transparencies, 496 negatives, 54 photographs and 1,462 digitals - 5,333 in total! However, having originally set off to simply produce a book of old photographs, I realised that I had also been lucky enough to have lived and slept in some remarkable places in Great Britain and Ireland. When I finally added them all up (thank goodness for all my old diaries and journals), I obtained the amazing figure of 334 locations! Further analysis revealed that I had actually "lived" in 34 locations i.e. I stayed there long enough to use these locations as a postal address, involving 21 counties in England, Scotland and Wales. So this book became a chronological account of some of the locations where I have spent a night or more in Great Britain and Ireland, with accompanying photographs of either the exact location or general area. Here it is, then, my life in photographs and some of the places where I have lived and slept in the British Isles.
